This time let’s talk about binder tapes, which made a lot of people confused.
Binder tape is a tape with a fold line in the center of the tape to facilitate folding in half, and like bias tape, it is used for fabric edge treatment to prevent fabric fraying.
It is an excellent product that allows fabric edges to be sandwiched evenly between the front and back sides of the fabric and neatly trimmed.
For example, if you want to sandwich fabric in a 9 x 9 mm size, you would use 9 mm on the front side and 9 mm on the back side.
First time buyers may get confused by 9 x 9 mm, so we recommend checking the sample book!
Let’s see what binder tapes are popular out there.
This is a thin knit binder made of 95% polyester and 5% polyurethane.
Its stretchiness makes it ideal for edge trimming of curved parts such as collars and sleeves.
This is one of the most popular tapes we carry at ApparelX, and I have received orders from uniform manufacturers for this product for use in aprons, cut and sewn clothing, blouses, shirts, etc.
One thing to note: the color variation differs depending on the size.
This knit tape is made of 80% polyester and 20% nylon, and has a soft texture with delicate lame that shines elegantly.
The calm color range makes it an easy-to-use type metallic color.
This silver stretch binder is 75% polyester, 20% polyurethane, and 5% nylon. This binder tape is a type that offers two different looks: glitterly on one side and regular color on the other.
There are also herringbone and stripes patterns, etc. as shown above.
We hope you have a better glance about binder tape in general as well as Shindo tape in particular.
