PIS (Preview in Seoul) 2024

Its typhoon season in Japan so we’re getting a lot rain this week, but last week, we were in Seoul, South Korea exhibiting at Preview in Seoul (PIS) held at the COEX halls on Aug. 21-23.

We had a lot of interest from many people and we are grateful for the new experience. We have exhibited at domestic trade shows before and have visited international shows but this was our first time as a company to be exhibiting internationally so we weren’t quite sure what the reaction was going to be like.

While juggling conversations with language barriers was tricky at times, I think we were able to make meaningful connections with some of our visitors and fellow booth neighbors!

Some findings we learned:

• Corduroy is in
• Denim is still, and always will be, in
• Cupro linings are still at low inventories but Cupro/Poly blend is accepted
• While IRIS buttons and parts are high quality, it is still a out of budget for new brands

We also had the opportunity to visit the famous Dongdaemun Market!

The SPACE…. we did not expect this variety of vendors let alone the sheer amount of vendors. 4 buildings with at least 8 floors of vendors. Crazy.. but amazing.

We did notice that there weren’t too many natural fiber fabrics which made sense because a lot of what we export out to Korea was natural fiber fabrics. Interesting to see that connect.

We are considering exhibiting again next year so if you didn’t have the chance to see us last week, we’ll be there again!
