This month, we would like to introduce ROKAL, a fabric manufacturer specializing in military fabrics.
ROKAL is a textile manufacturer based in Tokyo.
With bases in Nishiwaki and Kojima, the company stocks and sells about 100 original fabrics, including many yarn-dyed fabrics from the Banshu production area, denim from the Bingo district, and military and work materials.
Although the company was established relatively recently, in 2016, it exhibited at the recently held Premium Texitile Japan, where it had business meetings with many customers.
ROKAL is characterized by the fact that it handles many of Nishiwaki and Kojima’s specialty items, especially military items.
The RM series, which we will introduce later as a recommended item number, is made of materials inspired by military wear.
They have a large selection of fabrics that are particularly appealing to enthusiasts, such as fabrics that have been analyzed from the threads of actual vintage work clothes.
Military wear is always in demand as a standard material, so we highly recommend this series to those who are looking for it.
In addition, ROKAL works with factories to offer a wide range of fabrics, including quilts, prints, bonding, and coatings.
TOP
Ripstop material made with reference to BDUs, which were combat uniforms adopted by the entire U.S. military in 1981 and used by the Navy until its discontinuation in 2012.
The cotton and nylon material is of course highly durable.
As may be well-known to military enthusiasts, this fabric was made by analyzing BLACK357, which was produced for only one year in 1997, from the threads, and we can feel the strong commitment to this fabric.
Various manufacturers have proposed countless military fabrics, of course, but there are not many that present the item or period of time referenced in this way.
This is another ripstop material with BDU as its source.
It is 100% cotton and is based on the mid-range Woodland fabrics used from 1984.
This item is also available in two camouflage patterns, basic camo and tiger stripe, as stock colors.
This fabric is a reference to the M-47 cargo pants adopted by the French Army in 1947.
It was used for cargo pants, so it is a thick and very durable fabric.
This is a high-quality, authentic material that we recommend to those who are looking for a military fabric for pants.
Military wear has an image of functional fabrics such as ripstop, but it seems that herringbone was widely used in the U.S. in the 40s.
This is recommended for those who seek a more classic look while maintaining the functionality and ruggedness of military wear.
As mentioned above, ROKAL is also good at post-processing fabrics in cooperation with factories.
This is a quilted polyester taffeta with a diamond pattern.
It is stocked in quilted condition and is available in a wide variety of colors, making it a very useful material.
As mentioned above, ROKAL also has bases in the Nishiwaki and Banshu areas, so it also offers a lineup of yarn-dyed fabrics.
This yarn-dyed cotton linen is woven with a diagonal weave (a plain weave made by aligning two or more threads of warp and weave), and is recommended for summer wear as it has good breathability and is soft to the touch.
This is a dobby weave material using high-twisted yarn.
It is characterized by its three-dimensional surface and transparency.
Combined with the gradation of the check pattern, it is a very summery fabric.
This time, we introduced ROKAL, a new manufacturer of ApparelX.
We hope you will try their military fabrics, especially the RM series, which are based on samples of actual military wear.
ApparelX also carries many ROKAL fabrics other than those introduced here, so please take a look at ApparelX ROKAL page!
