How to purchase WALDES® Zippers

If you’re new to buying zippers, the process can seem a bit overwhelming. To make things easier, ApparelX has simplified the ordering system for Waldes Zippers. In this guide, we’ll walk you through each step to help you confidently place your order.

Zipper teeth size

There are 5 zippers available: size 3, size 4, size 5, size 8 and size 10. Zipper size determines the width of the metal teeth. The bigger the number, the wider the metal part will be. Please do not mistake it for the zipper’s length!

You can see from this photo, the size 3 zipper is smallest, while size 8 zipper is biggest.

Zipper teeth color (Metal/chain part)

Zipper teeth color is usually going to be matched with the slider, the bottom stop as well as the top stop. Please do not mistake the zipper teeth color (metal/chain part) with the zipper tape color (fabric part).

There are 5 teeth colors available: 

AL (Aluminium)

N (Nickel)

G (Gold/Red Brass)

AG (Antique Gold)

BK (Black)

If the photo in the product page has a red rectangle over a certain color, it means your zipper teeth will be that color, for example the photo below is from a N( Nickel) color zipper’s product page.

Zipper Tape material

Currently there are 2 material types for Waldes Zipper. 

E means Polyester ( the zipper tape fabric part is made from polyester)

CO means Cotton  ( the zipper tape fabric part is made from Cotton)

Zipper type

Last but not least, zipper type is depending on its usage. If you are not sure which zipper you are looking for, please recheck with your production team.

There are 3 types of zippers available.

C- Closed end zipper

OR- Open end zipper

MR- 2 ways open zipper ( Sliders are on both end of zippers)

How to read WALDES® zipper’s product code

With all of the explanation above, let practice to read a zipper code/ what does it imply:

3-AL-E-OR : This means this is a size 3 open end zipper, the teeth & slider is Aluminium color and the tape is made from polyester!
